The Domino Effect
Kelly and Cam's friendship began around a table at a Bible study in 2019. They had only just met, but before the evening was over they had shared phone numbers, life stories, and a bond that would carry them through years of joy and hardship. Looking back, neither of them could have imagined how much they would one day need the other.
Years later, when Cam was diagnosed with stage-four lymphoma, Kelly quietly submitted her name to Faithfully Restored. She carefully chose each item that would fill a care package, asking someone else to write the handwritten note so the gift would remain anonymous. After a difficult day of chemotherapy, Cam came home to find the package waiting on her kitchen table. Every item felt thoughtfully chosen, arriving at one of the lowest points in her treatment. She had no idea who had sent it, only that it felt like God reminding her she wasn't walking through the valley alone.
Only later did she discover that Kelly had been behind it all.
Today, Kelly continues serving through Faithfully Restored, and while Cam's recovery still limits her ability to volunteer in person, every morning she prays by name for women she'll likely never meet. One friendship became an act of kindness. One act of kindness became a ministry to someone else. That's the beautiful ripple effect of compassion—one woman walking alongside another until they're both helping carry someone else's burden.
"It was like God saying, 'Somebody cares about you.' You don't have to know who—we've got you covered."
